Step 1 · Where to measure

From the base of the neck to the tip of the shoulder.

Stand or sit upright and relax the shoulders. Use a ruler or a tape measure held flat, on one side of the body. Someone else measuring you is easiest, but a mirror works.

Base of the neckWhere the neck meets the shoulder, at the top of the trapezius.

Tip of the shoulderThe outer bony edge of the shoulder (the acromion).

The distance between themThat is your measurement. Most adults fall between 12 and 18 cm (4¾ to 7 in).

Every GS11 ships with two bases and two extension layers, labeled 1, 2 and E. Your level tells you which base to use and how many extensions to add under it.

Label guide. 1 = low base · 2 = high base · E = extension layer. Side sleepers and back sleepers use the two different sides of the same pillow; the level is the same.
